Don’t let our name fool you. VIPS needs your financial support to survive. We are a 501(C) non profit organization and rely heavily on our individual donors and business partners for financial support.

Because 90% of your donation goes directly to our programs and services, we are able to offer innovative approaches to learning that target the specific needs of our students. Our volunteers augment the learning experience of a crowded city classroom with enough extended one-on-one attention to make a difference to a child struggling to make the grade.

And we are successful. Teachers report that over 87% of students helped by a VIPS volunteer show progress in the basic skills of reading, writing and math and at the same time show improvement in behavior, attendance and attitude.

Your donation allows us to recruit, train and match our tutors and mentors with students who face enormous barriers to academic success. But we know they have enormous potential as well….they just need some extra help. Help you can give with your donation to VIPS.

Here are some suggested ways to make a gift:

• Give By Phone: Use your credit card to donate over the phone. Call(401) 274-3240
  and ask for Theresa Seddon.
  
• Give By Mail : Mail your check, payable to:
  VIPS,905 Westminster Street, Providence, RI 02903. 
  
• Give In Honor of Someone : This is a wonderful way to honor a relative, friend or colleague on a special occassion. 
  
• Give a Matching Gift : Contact the Human Resources Department of your company to inquire if your company offers a Matching Gift Program. You may be able to double the size of your gifts to VIPS.
  
• Securities : Check with your financial advisor to determine if this is the best method of donation for you.

In Kind Donations
In Kind Donations can be items such as computers, office equipment, children’s books, items for our special events or any other non monetary item. Contact Theresa Seddon at the VIPS office ( 401.274.3240) to arrange your donation.

Planned Giving
Gifts may come from bequests, insurance policies, retirement policies or other vehicles naming VIPS as sole or partial beneficiary. If you are considering a planned gift make sure to discuss it with your financial advisor.

Give Through the United Way
While we prefer a direct contribution, we can still receive United Way gifts if you designate VIPS specifically on your United Way form. Also, if you have established a Philanthropy Fund at the United Way, you can arrange for a distribution to us.
