Reading is FUNdamental
Through Inspiring Minds' participation in RIF (Reading is FUNdamental), approximately 5,000 Providence public school students select three free books each year. Students in grades K through 3 from 18 participating schools benefit from RIF. The oldest book distribution program in the United States, RIF began in the 1960s, and the U.S. Department of Education provides funds to qualifying RIF sites. During Inspiring Minds' 20 year history with RIF, we have provided more than 300,000 free books to children who otherwise might not own any books.
