Overview

VIPS is an award-winning nonprofit educational organization dedicated to enabling our city’s public school students to succeed in school – and build a good foundation for their future.

Mission

VIPS' mission is to provide Providence public school students with the educational support services and personalized help they need to grow academically
and socially.

Vision

VIPS' vision is that all Providence public school students have an equal chance at academic success. We see VIPS as being the provider of superior tutorial and mentoring services, educational resources and individual attention which truly affect academic outcomes and build skills for the 21st century.

What We Do

VIPS accomplishes our goals through our tutoring/mentoring programs for students in all grade levels and our after-school and summer workforce preparedness and career development programs for middle and high school students.  VIPS efficiently manages these initiatives by using recruited, screened, trained and managed community volunteers and leveraging collaborations with other nonprofits, businesses and universities to make a difference in our students' lives.  VIPS’ services are available to all Providence public school students, at all grade levels and in all subject areas.
